3.Question : Dear Doctor Jindal, My wife is 24 week pregnant. In today's Ultrasound examination the Doctor has talked about PreEclampsia since he could see resistance in the right side of uterus. According to him the overall development of the Baby seem to be normal in terms of body organs, heart, limbs etc. Could you please advise what did he talk about and give more details. Is it a matter of worry at the moment or in future. Actually speaking, there is no high blood pressure (infact her BP is low always), there is little redness/bluish patches in her legs and hands but no evident vein swelling in legs or any body part. We are actually confused what did the Doctor mean to tell us about Pre Eclampsia. Please guide. Regards,
Answer : There are some signs on ultrasound which can be picked up quite earl even before any clinical signs or syptoms appear. This is not a hundred percent test but a warning that a problem may arise later on. You just need close observation by your doctor and early treatment if anything develops. Low dose aspirin may help to prevent development of pre eclampsia. Pleas discuss with your doctor.
