Experience and Achievements
 
 
After obtaining  postgraduation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with honours medal from the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI), Chandigarh in 1980 and graduation from Government Medical College, Patiala in 1977 Dr. Jindal subsequently served as a senior resident and as an Assistant Professor in the WHO (CCR program) at the same Institute. She worked as a Fellow in Maternal fetal medicine in 1982-83. She received her IVF/ICSI training at the Institute of Human Reproduction Kolkata India and Reproductive Science Associates, Kansas City, USA. She has also been a visitor to many other IVF centres in USA, India and Turkey.

During her tenure as an Assistant Professor for over 4 years in the WHO/CCR unit she was actively engaged in clinical research, teaching and organizational activities related to human reproduction as incharge of the infertility clinic of the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of PGI, Chandigarh. Some of the ongoing research projects related to infertility and sponsored by the WHO on which she worked were:  I) Investigation and diagnosis of infertile couple. ii) Epidemiology of infertility; iii) ATP in semen – its significance in management of infertility; iv) Treatment of oligospermia with Clomiphene citrate. She has also serves as a guide for various trainees and research fellows.

Dr. Jindal is a member of several professional associations such as the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, European society of  Human Reproduction and Embryology. Indian Society for Assisted Reproduction, Indian Society of Perinatology and Reproductive Biology, Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecological Societies of India (FOGSI), Indian Fertility Society, National Association of Voluntary Sterilization and Family Planning of India, and Indian Medical Association and Indian Menopause Society. She was the founder of the Chandigarh Obstetrics and Gynaecology Society and has held important offices in regional and national societies.

She is also a faculty member for many national and regional conferences, has delivered numerous lectures and chaired scientific sessions. Her publications include several research articles published in national and international journals and presentations at scientific conferences in India and abroad. She is a reviewer for the international journal of tuberculosis.

She has got over 30 years of experience in the field of infertility. She was the first one to start specialized infertility services in Chandigarh including IVF and ICSI and several 100 babies have been born with these techniques. Her center Jindal IVF and Sant Memorial Nursing Home in Sector 20 is well equipped with a state of ART ISAR accredited IVF laboratory and equipment. Comprehensive infertility services including endoscopy, IVF– ET, ICSI, sperm bank, embryo cryofreezing, ICSI with testicular sperm and assisted hatching are provided at this center with excellent results.

The center is recognized by the FOGSI for ultrasound training and many candidates have already gone through the programme. The center also imparts short term training and CME programmes in various fields of ART. The centre has held five annual CME programmes. The 12th National congress of Indian Society of Assisted Reproduction on ART and Advanced Infertility Management (ISAR-2007) and fertivision 2008. The 4th National Conference of Indian Fertility Society was hosted and organized by Dr. Jindal in Feb. 2007 and 2008 respectively.
