Since 1989, we proudly stand as pioneers in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) and In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) in Northern India. With an experience in IVF of more than 30 years, we are the largest in the region – listed on the top of stand-alone IVF centres North of Delhi. The centre was established by Dr. Umesh Jindal, who after extensive training in both India and the United States established the Gynae and Fertility research centre in December 1989 at the Chandigarh Medical Centre (CMC-17 Chandigarh) founded by late Dr. P.N. Chhuttani, the former Director of PGI -Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh. In 2004, the center was shifted to the new building at 3050- sector 20-D. A state of ART, IVF lab was constructed with all the latest equipment. In March 2014 a new OPD was added opposite to the hospital building.

First IVF in Chandigarh

There are many “firsts” achieved by our center: IVF in Chandigarh was started at this center in 1995 for the first time and the first IVF baby was born in 1996. The current success rate with IVF at the center is over 50 %. IntraCytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) was introduced in 2001 and the first ICSI baby was born in 2002. The center was first to start vitrification and PGT. Techniques of embryo freezing, assisted hatching and blastocyst culture were also added. Andrology laboratory was also added for evaluation of the male partner. The Centre provides unique reproductive genetic facilities and PGT-M in India.

We have advanced IVF and genetics laboratories and offer result oriented management exploring all the latest options in consultation with the couple and their families. Till date, more than ten thousand babies have been born with various ART Techniques. 

The IVF lab is accredited by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the Indian Society of Assisted Reproduction (ISAR). The center is recognized for the gynae ultrasound training by the federation of obstetrical and gynecological societies of India (FOGSI). 
Besides infertility, we cater to the needs of all kinds of obstetric and gynecological patients.

The Team

We have a team of experienced IVF/Infertility specialists of 14 doctors and 3 embryologists. The team of trained and dedicated postgraduate doctors and nurses on duty, round the clock look after all kinds of obstetric emergencies. Consultants in Pediatrics, Anesthesia, General surgery, Urology and Dermatology are also available on call, as and when required. Laboratory counter of Agilus Diagnostics is available within the premises for all the laboratory requirements. 

The center has accumulated a large experience and expertise over the years. It attracts patients seeking treatment not only from the adjoining states of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh but also from distant areas. Overseas patients from the Middle East, Europe, Canada and the United States comprise almost 20% of our total workload. 

We are also active in academic and educational fields. Several training activities, research projects, workshops and conferences have been organized. Students from abroad have also done their training and research at the center. We also offer fellowship programs of Amity University through the Indian Fertility Society. We offer patient friendly quality care with state of the art technology and a team of dedicated staff. The center has a vision to keep pace with the latest technology and update facilities as and when they become applicable.
