Since 1989, we stand proudly as pioneers in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) and In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) in Northern India. With an experience in IVF of more than 30 years, we are the largest in the region – listed on the top of stand-alone IVF centres North of Delhi. The centre was established by Dr. Umesh Jindal, who after extensive training in both India and the United States established the Gynae and Fertility research centre in December 1989 at the Chandigarh Medical Centre (CMC-17 Chandigarh) founded by late Dr. P.N. Chhuttani, the former Director of PGI -Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh. In 2004, we shifted our center to the new building at 3050, Sector 20-D. We also constructed a state-of-the-art IVF lab with all the latest equipment. In March 2014, a new OPD was added opposite to the hospital building.

First IVF in Chandigarh

Our center has achieved many "firsts" in reproductive medicine: IVF in Chandigarh was pioneered at this center in 1995, with the first IVF baby born in 1996. Currently, our success rate with IVF exceeds 50%. We introduced Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) in 2001, with the first ICSI baby born in 2002. Our center was the first to implement vitrification and PGT techniques in the region. We have also incorporated advanced techniques such as embryo freezing, assisted hatching, and blastocyst culture. We also established an andrology laboratory for comprehensive evaluation of male partners. The Centre provides exceptional reproductive genetic facilities and PGT-M services in India.

We maintain state-of-the-art IVF and genetics laboratories, offering result-oriented management that explores all the latest options in consultation with couples and their families. To date, more than ten thousand babies have been born through various Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) techniques at our center.

Our IVF laboratory is accredited by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the Indian Society of Assisted Reproduction (ISAR). The center is recognized for gynecological ultrasound training by the Federation of Obstetrical and Gynecological Societies of India (FOGSI). Beyond infertility, we provide comprehensive care for all obstetric and gynecological patients.

The Team

We have assembled a team of 14 experienced IVF/infertility specialists and 3 embryologists. Our trained and dedicated postgraduate doctors and nurses provide round-the-clock care for all obstetric emergencies. Consultants in Pediatrics, Anesthesia, General Surgery, Urology, and Dermatology are available on call as needed. An Agilus Diagnostics laboratory counter is conveniently located within our premises to meet all laboratory requirements.

Our center has developed extensive experience and expertise over the years. We attract patients seeking treatment not only from the adjoining states of Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh but also from distant regions. International patients from the Middle East, Europe, Canada, and the United States comprise almost 20% of our total practice.

We are actively engaged in academic and educational endeavors. We regularly organize training activities, research projects, workshops, and conferences. Students from abroad have completed their training and research at our center. We offer fellowship programs through Amity University in partnership with the Indian Fertility Society.
